Phew! We learned a lot this month. At Pop Cats we learned that there are many cats much better trained than ours (and our cat can do a high five!). At this BYOC (bring-your-own-cat) event at Magnuson we showed off a mama bread cat and her kittens, ran a cookie table (for humans) and sold boxes (and boxes) of Japanese milk rolls in kitty shapes. So fun!

GeekGirlCon was at the Convention Center and folks built cookie decorating kits with skulls, medusa, atomic elements, D20 dice and other awesome shaped vanilla and chocolate sugar cookies.

Relieved to be back at home base, the Wedgwood pop-up market, we got back to business on our challah, sweet potato rolls and macarons towards the end of the month. Flavor inspirations came from nature – the fig tree hitting us on the head became fig, olive and sea salt challah. Apples in the neighborhood became caramel apple macarons.

What do you think was the best challah filling this month?

  • 0%Pumpkin Apple

  • 0%Fig, Olive Oil & Sea Salt

  • 0%No filling! Perfectly plain

  • 0%Tomato basil

We also delivered challah on Fridays to folks in the neighborhood, thrilled to think of our little loaves all grown up and off to elevate meals of peace and togetherness.

Lastly, we had an amazing time at our Dia de los Muertos kids cookie art workshop, admiring the vibrant colors in Mexican folk and street art as well as deep diving into the life of Frida Kahlo. What an October!!
